WORKING: SKEWed REVERSIBLE PULLOVER BEACH TAR 560.00 GBP
Introducing WORKING - A collaborative brand between Middle Distance and our friends Tender co.
Working together from our studios in Glasgow, Scotland and Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Working reflects our individual approaches to design and production and allows us to interrogate each other’s understanding of fabrics, art and design history, uniform constructions and an expanded notion of workwear. The project name is made up of the initials WK and RN and garments are produced in England and Japan
An exaggerated smock shape, the reversible pullover is effectively a denim interpretation of a classic American hooded sweatshirt in a denim language.
Drawcord cinch at waist and popstud cinch at cuffs. The hood opening can be narrowed by the use of a single popstud.
Bringing the detail back into denim, the signature overlap back seam construction is adapted from bib overalls design and the cuffs of Lee chore coats
When reversed, the pullover reveals its half lining in olive green herringbone twill, creating an unexpected colour block. All functional details can be operated in its reversed setting – the pocket orientation is turned 90 degrees to create an enormous ‘marsupial’ pouch.
Available in natural ecru twill dyed in Beach Tar Black.
Working SKEWed is made at Edwin Japan’s experimental ‘SKEWed’ production facility, combining their in-house weaving and sewing expertise with Working’s experimental design approach.
